Central role in our clinic
In internal medicine we focus on (possible) disorders of internal organs and organ systems in horses. Our ECEIM certified internists play an important and coordinating role in this. It is a specialism that runs through every other specialization of the clinic and has interfaces with it, it is a central role in the clinic. We have all the facilities and expertise to provide your horse with optimal care.
Acting early increases the chance of a good outcome
When identifying an internal problem that cannot be solved at home by a first-line veterinarian, it is wise to refer to the second-line clinic. In our case, a specialist in the field of internal medicine. The story of the owner and the physical examination are the most important starting points for the internist. Sometimes additional research is necessary, for example:
- Blood test
- Feaces- and urine test
- Bacteriologic examination
- Puncture and biopsy
- Ultrasound incl. ECG (cardiography)
- X-ray
- (Dynamic) scope
- MRI-scan
At our clinic all facilities are available to carry out a complete examination and a team is present at the clinic 24/7 to optimally care for the horse.
In house specialists
When making a diagnosis, we use a 360-degree approach, in addition to all the research equipment, the knowledge is also available at our veterinarians. Both Marco de Bruijn and Berit Boshuizen are specialized in internal medicine, both are ECEIM (European College of Equine Internal Medicine) veterinarians. They lead the entire team consisting of a specialist in training, interns and paraveterinarians. Together they take care of the admitted patients.

The treatment is therefore not always straightforward, but is tailored to the individual patient depending on the condition. Happy horses, happy people
Onze bejaarde pony Jacob is geholpen aan eorth. We zijn vooraf goed geïnformeerd over de behandeling en kansen op herstel, ook gewezen op de risico's van de ingreep. Onze pony is als een prins behandeld en uitstekend verzorgd. De dierenarts hield ons goed op de hoogte. Gelukkig verloopt het herstel van Jacob voorspoedig. Dikke prima voor deze kliniek
Zeer fijne kliniek. Gaan rustig en deskundig om met mijn paarden. En nemen de tijd de vragen te beantwoorden.
Er word goed naar je uitleg geluisterd, keelscopie en balspoeling op schijf thuisgestuurd gekregen. Uit de scopie op de dag zelf bleek al: pony retour met gierende banden! Aantal dagen later keurig gebeld met labuitslagen, hele goede uitleg van Berit + advies ab bacteriele infectie vd verkopende partij. Ik kocht een gekeurde pony, maar een kliniek is mi toch iets anders dan een DAP. (De goede DAP's niet te na gesproken) 😉.
