Sport horse management involves a multidisciplinary approach allowing us to optimise all aspects of your horses performance. This not only concerns orthopaedic or medical matters, but also optimization of shoeing, nutrition and training.
At Paardenkliniek Wolvega we have a number of veterinarians who focus entirely on the equine athlete; this can allow us to detect small problems early on, in order to prevent the development of injuries or poor performance.
Sporthorse management put in practice
In practice, this means that we examine your horse extensively on a regular basis, alternating from once a month to twice a year. This involves a clinical examination as is carried out when purchasing a horse. In addition, if desired, we can also look at training, nutrition and herds, among other things. With this information obtained, together with you and the experts involved, we look at where management can be optimized.
Team effort
At Paardenkliniek Wolvega we like our customers to have a regular veterinarian who guides and follows their horses throughout their career. If we encounter problems during this process, they can be resolved at an early stage. In addition, the strength of Paardenkliniek Wolvega is that there is also close contact internally at the clinic between the various specialized veterinarians so that adequate action can be taken.
In short: The management of an equine athlete is a team effort between you and your horse, supported by our vets, farriers and physiotherapists at Dierenkliniek Wolvega where our motto is: “Prevention is better than cure”

Happy horses, happy people
Onze bejaarde pony Jacob is geholpen aan eorth. We zijn vooraf goed geïnformeerd over de behandeling en kansen op herstel, ook gewezen op de risico's van de ingreep. Onze pony is als een prins behandeld en uitstekend verzorgd. De dierenarts hield ons goed op de hoogte. Gelukkig verloopt het herstel van Jacob voorspoedig. Dikke prima voor deze kliniek
Zeer fijne kliniek. Gaan rustig en deskundig om met mijn paarden. En nemen de tijd de vragen te beantwoorden.
Er word goed naar je uitleg geluisterd, keelscopie en balspoeling op schijf thuisgestuurd gekregen. Uit de scopie op de dag zelf bleek al: pony retour met gierende banden! Aantal dagen later keurig gebeld met labuitslagen, hele goede uitleg van Berit + advies ab bacteriele infectie vd verkopende partij. Ik kocht een gekeurde pony, maar een kliniek is mi toch iets anders dan een DAP. (De goede DAP's niet te na gesproken) 😉.
