Buiten wat de dierenartsen kunnen doen, is een laboratoriumonderzoek vaak een waardevolle en soms zelfs noodzakelijke aanvulling om een goed beeld te krijgen van wat er met een pati\u00ebnt aan de hand is. Het is van belang om te bepalen welke van deze micro-organismen de infectieverwekker is om de juiste behandeling te kiezen, vaak met een antibiotica of antimycotica.<\/p><p>Ook kunnen wij cytologische onderzoeken uitvoeren. Dit is onderzoek waarbij we kijken naar de verschillende soorten cellen in een monster. Hierbij zijn de concentraties, verhoudingen en afwijkingen van de cellen van belang.
